Britt's 2 Favourite Smoothie Recipes

 

Before these two recipes, every smoothie I made at home was disgusting.

Banana Turmeric Coffee Smoothie

Ingredients:
2 frozen bananas

8 dates

1 cup coconut milk

1 tbsp Triphala or maca powder or whatever booster you want.

1 tbsp golden milk powder*

6-8oz cold coffee

Method:

Blend on high speed until smooth. Add more liquid if its to thick. A thicker version would also make a great smoothie bowl topped with granola and coconut...

* Golden Milk Powder

This brand is awesome, or you can make your own:

Mix this all together and store in a jar.

I add it to the banana smoothie but I also drink it on its own by mixing a teaspoon of it into hot water, adding a tsp of honey, and voila: a warm an nourishing anti-inflammatory cup of goodness. 

1 cup coconut flour (its just finely ground coconut)

1/4 cup turmeric powder

1/2 tsp fresh ground black pepper

optional: maca powder

 

Berry Cacao & Beet Smoothie

 

Berry Cacao & Beet Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 large handful of frozen raspberries or another berry you like

1 cup non- dairy milk. I like coconut or cashew

1 heaping scoop of coconut yogurt

1 tbsp of red beet powder ( No joke- this is amazing veggie add-in and easy to find in most health food grocery stores)

1 small handful cacao nibs- toss half in the blender and save some for the top of your smoothie.

Method:

Toss it all in a high powered blender and blend until very smooth.

Top with extra cacao nibs for crunch.


Optional:

Maca powder, other unflavoured protein powder if you are using.
